In order to insure the best quality data for our NCAA members, NCAA staff, and downstream partners, Genius Sports highly recommends following these Data Quality guidelines.


PART A 


The quality of the NCAA Data is dependent on the quality, accuracy, completeness and speed of the NCAA Data input and, as such, each NCAA Member must ensure that: 


  • the scheduling information: 
  • includes the following information: date, time, venue name and address, teams and/or clubs competing in the relevant matches; 
  • is maintained accurately and updated in a timely fashion. Any changes to the time, date or venue of a match must be notified to NCAA within 24 hours of being made; and 
  • is provided to the NCAA, for each competition, within 3 days of being released or at least 30 days before the start of the applicable competition (whichever is the sooner) which includes at a minimum: the time and date for the relevant matches, the details of the teams competing in the relevant matches and the venue for such match; 
  • rosters for both participating teams are updated and submitted to the NCAA statistics database no less than 24 hours before game time for all games; 
  • the NCAA Live Stats Solution is used for every home match; 
  • it follows the Gameday Statistician Guidelines under Part B of this Schedule 19; 
  • each venue has an internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 0.256 Mbit/sec and a minimum download speed of 2.0 Mbit/sec or an alternate internet connection (e.g. USB mobile internet dongle). 



PART B 


Gameday Statistician Guidelines 


The quality of the NCAA Data is dependent on the quality, accuracy, completeness and speed of the NCAA Data input and, as such, each NCAA Member must ensure that: 


  • There is at least one statistician and one caller for each match. 
  • The statistician connects to Live Stats at least 30 minutes prior to the match and remains connected until the NCAA Data has been checked and confirmed post-match. 
  • If the match is delayed for more than five minutes, the statistician sends a game message in LiveStats indicating the reason for the delay.  
  • The statistician indicates a reason for all stoppage, timeout, injury, play under review.   
  • The statistician frequently checks score and time to ensure consistency with venue scoreboard.  
  • The following end of quarter/half checks are completed: 
  • confirm score 
  • compare fouls and points with scoreboard 
  • check team totals 
  • resolve flags 
  • The following end of game checks are completed: 
  • same checks as end of quarter/half 
  • after confirmation steps “finalize” game within five minutes.
